Bad Moon Born – Reins [Single, 2021]

Sydney’s Alternative/Hard-Rock unit, Bad Moon Born recently unveiled their latest single Reins off their upcoming EP, slated to be released later this year. Not much is known about them, except they have been around for almost 6 years with few singles under their belt.

Reins and other singles from them evidently showing they’re heavily influenced by early 00 Hard Rock bands such as Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace. Interestingly Bad Moon Born also bears influences from Metalcore/Post-HC giants such as Avenged Sevenfold and Black Veil Brides. I like the brilliant songwriting, most importantly. It has mainstream appeal of highly emotional singing while retaining crushing guitar tones and playing. Check out the blazing guitar solo as well. It really completes the melancholic atmosphere present throughout the song. 

As someone who grown up through the early 2000, Bad Moon Born sounds like songs I would hear from my peers music player, so it’s kind of a walk down memory lane with fresh approach.  I wonder what would the rest of the EP will sound like. Hopefully it’ll be equally as good as this or even better.
