News – Tragica Release ‘Soul of Thy Persecuted’ Single
After a long slumber, Penang’s very own Melodic Death Metal unit Tragica returns with ‘Soul of Thy Persecuted’, a dark, heavy, and emotionally charged track that marks their long-awaited comeback.
Soul of Thy Presecuted serves as the teaser of the upcoming release from Tragica, but as Keymie (lead guitars) put it, ‘likely will be part of the upcoming full album, with a working title Endless Enthusiasm as of now.’
The single boasts wide range of influences such as Abyssos and Old Man’s Child while retaining traces of Dark Tranquillity, Dimension Zero, Kataklysm and more. The introduction of keyboard works and screeching vocals add layers of complexity over their staple Melodic Death Metal sound with rabid drumming and crushing guitar works. Soul of Thy Persecuted appears to be an experimental release by Tragica which might or might not executed in the future album.
While it’s too early to tell their new direction, Tragica’s return is more than just to release new material, but also poised to keep Penang music scene alive. Tragica recently performed at Northwind Tempest alongside other local heroes.
